New Moon :: Solar Eclipse :: October 25, 2022 ::  6:48am EDT :: 2 degrees Scorpio

Underground rivers create new caverns.

This eclipse is a Solar Eclipse, with the Sun and the Moon meeting in the sign of Scorpio. Scorpio is fixed water, and signifies a deeply emotional process of merging and separating. A New Moon is a new beginning and an Eclipse is a reset.

My symbol for this eclipse is an underground river creating new caverns. The new caverns are the deep emotional changes. There are new openings being carved by the force of water (a symbol for emotion). Get ready to let something go. Make space for something new.

As the river winds its way below the surface, there is something emotional nudging you. You can decide not to question it, and just carry on with your daily life. But there would be an inescapable and stressful feeling that something is off.

Or you could try to follow the subterranean river of emotion. Where is the source? How mighty is the current? What new spaces are opening up within you?

Don’t expect this process to be easy to categorize, conceptualize or contain. It might feel messy.  It might be hard to describe. It’s okay if it does.

I have two main thoughts about this eclipse.

  1. Find something that will help you

  2. Pay attention to grief and letting go

The first thought is partially inspired by the major aspect of this eclipse, a conjunction between Venus, the Sun and the Moon. Venus is the symbol of receptivity. Do you have to do all of this growth, healing, destruction, renewal and grieving by yourself? No! Help yourself find momentum. What can soothe you and give you a lift? Maybe it’s a song that carries you. A friend who inspires you. A restorative moment spent in nature. A prayer, gratitude or meditation.

The less complicated, the better. Often Venus helps us in the smallest ways, and it’s easy to miss this support if we aren’t paying attention.

The second topic is a bit more gnarly. But so important. Scorpio season is all about letting go. I know that letting go can be a scary topic. It’s easy to hear ‘letting go’ or ‘grief’ and immediately imagine the last thing that you would ever want to let go of. This is when astrology can feel catastrophic or scary.

But I don’t mean anything scary or catastrophic when I say these words. We are all constantly letting go of something, because something is always changing. Even if it’s a season, an event or a hole in a favorite shirt, something is fading away. Spend a little time connecting with loss and grief. It’s part of the current process.

Close your eyes and map your deep emotional currents. If you are feeling unemotional right now, what is going on inside of you? What needs to move? If you are feeling wildly emotional right now, let the underground river carry you and find something that will help the feelings move.

To let yourself grieve requires self-trust and patience. How do you know you won’t get stuck in the grief? It’s a common question, and your answer has to do with your past experiences, knowing yourself and what you can handle right now. There is no rush. Trust your own timeline.

Venus is here to help during this eclipse, so even through these big emotional currents, there is a way to access ease and restoration.

I have new session types available!

25 minute Full Moon Special Event Readings (the next event is November 7th, there are 4 spots left).

45 minute Readings (A focused and in-depth view of one topic! This is perfect if you have never worked with me and you want to get a feel for my style. Or if you’re a regular client and you just need a quick look at a specific topic.)

90 minute Readings This is my most popular reading. It gives us enough time to talk about your natal chart (always important, but especially so for a first reading), and to talk about your current Transits, Solar Arcs, Progressions, Eclipses—there’s a lot to discuss!
